A note from Wayne
Welcome, and thank you for stopping by.
The country records I return to have a clear melody, a voice you can recognize in the first few words, and enough room for the story to leave its imprint. That is the kind of music I’m preparing to record. I sing in a low voice. I’ve learned to trust it.
The first song on the stand is “I Remember You,” written by Victor Schertzinger and Johnny Mercer in 1941. It is a song of love remembered with tenderness and gratitude. The less you push it, the more it says.
If you’d like to hear the first recording when it’s ready, join the mailing list below. I write when there’s something worth telling you, and no more often than that.
